BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most widely recognized wrinkle relaxer, but it isn’t your only option. For those exploring neuromodulator options, Dysport® and Jeuveau® offer additional ways to relax facial muscles and achieve a refreshed, natural look. Each neuromodulator has its own unique formulation, potency, and benefits, giving patients more flexibility to choose the treatment that best suits their goals.
All neuromodulators contain the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin type A, work the same way, and are designed for the same types of aesthetic concerns. They work for a similar amount of time and provide similar results.
However, there are some subtle differences between them. Dysport® has a smaller molecular size, is more diluted, and spreads more readily, so it can be ideal for treating larger areas such as the forehead. It may also have a faster onset than BOTOX® Cosmetic, with results often appearing within twenty-four hours. Jeuveau®, often called “NewTox,” delivers comparable results to other wrinkle relaxers but is formulated specifically for aesthetic use.
