Background and Education
Dr. A. Taylor Hilton-known to many patients simply as Dr. Taylor-is a lifelong New Orleanian, born and raised in the city he proudly calls home. After graduating from Jesuit High School, he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Latin. It was during this time that he discovered his interest in dermatology. Continuing a family tradition in medicine, he returned to New Orleans to attend LSU School of Medicine, following in the footsteps of both his parents.
After earning his medical degree, Dr. Taylor Hilton completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a Dermatology residency at LSU School of Medicine—the same program where his mother, Dr. Deborah Hilton, trained. During residency, he met his future wife, Dr. Sophia Mai, who was also training in dermatology. Upon completing his residency training, he joined his mother in private practice in Slidell, Louisiana. His wife, Dr. Mai, joined a year later.
Dr. Hilton is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an active fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Louisiana Dermatologic Society, and the American Medical Association.
